April 2009

- We knew that it was going to be a up hill battle against our old Elise as we are giving away about 30bhp to it. The only way we were going to stand a chance against it was to sort out the handling issues which we experienced at Combe. The good news is that the changes helped Rob beat his old car into submission. Looking at the splits from the event his old car was quicker over the first part of the lap, which is the power part. Then in the second half of the lap, which consists of a number of very fast sweeping bends, Robs new car was able to pull back the advantage and ultimately the win. To add to the fantastic result Robs best time was within half a second of his lap record which he set in his old Elise. Who says you need horse power!
- After the success of the first sprint of the year at Castle Combe we have been working on the car to iron out the niggles that were encountered on that sprint. All the new bits have been fitted now and the car is ready to go. - Rob is up against his old Elise on Monday (4th May), his old car has a 30bhp advantage over he new Elise so this should be a real challenge. Colerne is a power circuit but we hope the changes we've made to the cars over all handling package will make up for the power deficit. Fingers crossed!
