Who are MTC Racing?
MTC Racing was originally setup as a Sprint and Hill Climb running a Lotus Elise. Since then the team has moved into circuit racing with a Radical Clubsport which we campaign in the Castle Combe Special GT Championship.
The team was started by Rob Clarke in 2004 for his rookie year in competition. Rob is no stranger to motorsport as he used to race motorcycles when he was younger, 2004 was his first year competing on four wheels. The 2004 season ended on a high note with Rob taking 4th place in the Bristol Motor Club championship with a number of top 3 places including 3 first places!
This success continued in 2005 with Rob winning the Bristol Speed Championship and taking a very respectable 5th place in the ASWMC championship against some serious competition. For 2006 Rob moved to circuit racing at his local circuit Castle Combe. The car of choice was a Radical Clubsport and he entered it into the Castle Combe Special GT Championship. The year went very well with a number of top 10 finishes and finishing 6th in class in the Championship. 2007 was a very successful year for MTC Racing. In July Rob took a maiden victory in the Castle Combe Special GT's and went onto finish a fantastic 2nd in the Class B championship. For 2008 MTC Racing has one focus, to win the Special GT Championship! MTC Racing was setup in memory of Robs father who passed away in January 2005. Micheal Clarke has been a car enthusiast all his life, he used to race Mini's in the late 60's and continued working in the car industry restoring classics and doing race car setup until the day he passed away.
